SKL iRacing Legends Tour Official Announcement
After a lengthy hiatus, the Sim Karting League has returned with a brand new division of sim racing. It is without question that iRacing is the gold standard when it comes to sim racing, and after ending our partnership with Kart Racing Pro and PiBoSo Group, we believe that we have finally found a new combination that will both excite and challenge our unique racerbase.
Since its inception as the Sim Karting World Championship nearly four years ago, SKL has always been focused on offering a virtual experience that mimics that of real kart racing. Currently, no karting sim has been able to provide the level of excellence that our administration and drivers demand, and for that reason, we were forced to take a break and truly re-examine all of our options. Nothing was off-limits.
After months of testing, we settled on the iRacing.com Legends ’34 Ford Coupe. The car is light, nimble, and quick, featuring the closest power-to-weight ratio to a kart of any car on the service. We have hand-selected tracks that force racers to use a driving style similar to what they use in karting to be fast, and we have also spent quite a bit of time fine-tuning the car’s setup in order to strike a balance and feeling that resembles a kart.
Below is the official schedule for Season 1 of the SKL iRacing Legends Tour.
May 16th, 2017 – Round 1 @ Virginia International Raceway South Layout
May 23rd, 2017 – Round 2 @ Auto Club Speedway Infield Layout

June 13th, 2017 – Round 4 @ Okayama International Circuit Short Layout
June 20th, 2017 – Round 5 @ Long Beach Street Circuit
The series will feature a single, fixed setup for all drivers. There will be a team and driver’s championship up for grabs, with each team being limited to no more than three drivers. The point structure for the championship is still to be determined.
